Fully Realized Humans is a scrappy punk-rock comedy about Jackie (Jess Weixler, Chained for Life, FFF 2019 Grand Jury Award winner) and Elliot (Joshua Leonard, The Blair Witch Project, FFF 1999), a couple with less than a month until the birth of their first child, who embark on a quest of self-discovery in order to eradicate the dysfunction of their childhoods. Jackie’s drug-addicted dad Elliot’s anger issues, years of therapy, and white-liberal perfectionism become fodder for a madcap journey as they steal, vandalize, and otherwise abuse their privilege at the expense of everyone around them, all the while buying into their own delusions. When nothing works, of course, they finally confront their parents. With a terrific soundtrack and a great supporting cast that includes Jennifer LaFleur (“Baby Kate,” FFF 2020) and Beth Grant (Donnie Darko), Fully Realized Humans crafts a unique, funny, and beautifully honest comedy about growth, change, and the ultimate quest to reconnect with ourselves.
