Dino Dana: The Movie
Directed by: J.J. Johnson
Canada, 2020, 77m
Dana is an outgoing ten-year-old girl who loves dinosaurs and can meet and speak to them through her magical field guide. One of her new neighbors, Mateo, finds Dana’s dinosaur field guide and uses it to visit the dinosaur world. When a T-Rex who has lost its baby, mistakenly thinks Mateo is its own, he is dino-napped, and it’s up to Dana, her sister Saara, and Mateo’s older stepbrother Jadiel to get him back. Along the way, Dana and her friends will race through a stampede of Triceratops, take on a Spinosaurus, get beak-to-nose with a Quetzalcoatlus, and come to realize that family—whether human or Jurassic—is the most important quest of all. Dino Dana is the perfect family movie at this year’s Festival. Based on the Emmy®-award winning Amazon Prime series of the same name, Dana Dino is a heartfelt mix of comedy, action-adventure, and most all … dinosaurs.
Natalie and Sarah are the closest of friends, living in a world filled with unicorns and rainbows. When Sarah suddenly becomes ill, Natalie must put her own fears aside to be there for her friend in this magical debut from writer/director Brooklynn Prince (The Florida Project), co-written and produced by Sean Baker (2009 FFF Grand Jury Award winner, Prince of Broadway).
