An intimate, touching, sometimes funny, and sometimes sad look at the lives of three LGBTQ seniors as they navigate the challenges of their golden years. Robert, owner of the oldest gay bar in Texas, is confronted with both health issues and the possibility of losing the bar to a pending lawsuit. Ty, an outspoken LGBT activist and gay senior advocate, celebrates the passage of the New York’s Marriage Equality Act, but might not hear wedding bells in his own future. Dennis, a Florida widower with a fondness for ladies’ garments, explores his sexual identity after the passing of his wife. These three noble and heroic men are among the estimated 2.4 million lesbian, gay, or bisexual citizens over the age of 55 in America. BEFORE YOU KNOW IT explores how these men confront their own issues of aging while also staying connected to their community.
