GRAND WHEEL
USA, 2007, 6 MIN

East Coast Premiere
War drums beat to swirling images of innocence and innocence lost. Circular and circumspect, this experimental film provides moving juxtaposition and space for thought as the senses absorb color, shapes, and sounds.

LAND OF CONFUSION
USA, 2007, 91 MIN
DIRECTED BY JEREMY ZERECHAK
World Premiere
Jeremy Zerechak joined the Pennsylvania National Guard after graduating high school in the hope of putting together funds to pay for film school. When his unit was activated and deployed to Iraq in 2004, Zerechak did what came natural: he brought his cameras with him and filmed over fifty hours of footage ("not under direction of the Army") during his year in Iraq. During those twelve months, Zerechak would capture on camera the unique, often absurd experience of being a part of the secretive Iraq Survey Group charged with the duty of locating the elusive and infamous weapons of mass destruction. Like the great war documentarians who came before him, Zerechak shows us an uncensored and unflinching look at war, but this time the bravery and valor of the soldiers is undone by the corruption, chaos, and futility of the mission.
