Director Bio:
Laurie Thomas (“Prima Donna”) is a New York-based writer/director born to Jamaican parents and raised in Miami. She graduated with a B.A. in film and sociology from U.C. Berkeley and then performed social work where she gathered stories which would drive her passion to make films. Laurie is completing her M.F.A in film at Columbia University where she has written, directed, and produced several short films which have screened at film festivals internationally. She is currently developing her first feature, Guppy, a coming-of-age story.
