On work release from prison as a locksmith, Mike’s (Anslem Richardson) day should involve going to work, reconnecting with his ex-girlfriend, and then coming back before curfew. Unfortunately, on this day, it also consists of Margo (Ana Reeder). When she swindles Mike into breaking into her boyfriend Charles’s (Stephen Rannazzisi, TV’s The League) apartment, Mike’s gentle manner prevents him from saying no. Margo—extremely ditzy and insanely jealous—further persuades Mike to follow Charles to see if he is cheating on her. HOMEWRECKER, the directorial debut of the Barnes Brothers, was recently awarded the “Best of NEXT” at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival. Brilliantly cast, it’s Richardson’s charm and Reeder’s no holds-barred performance that create an onscreen chemistry between the two that’s the start of a lovely friendship. The film’s honesty, witty dialogue, and “day in the life of” events make this indie romantic comedy an irresistible feature debut.
