Three attractive, young, happily attached friends (Kristen Johnson, Cynthia Watros, Caroleen Feeney) are living satisfied lives in Manhattan, despite their fourth friend, and fifth wheel, Wanda (Crystal Bock). Dowdy, unemployed, and less than chipper, Wanda finally shocks her girlfriends by revealing that she’s found the perfect man: Duane. Gorgeous, successful, sensitive ... her friends should be happy, right? But the perfect man causes a perfect mess, especially when Wanda’s three friends begin to fall for him. Is Duane for real? Can anyone that charming and flawless actually exist? Hal Salwen, one of Variety’s 1997 “Top 10 Filmmakers to Watch,” won the Mention speciale Camera d'or at Cannes with his critically acclaimed 1995 comedy Denise Calls Up. In DUANE INCARNATE, the writer/director delivers a surreal echo of Sex and the City. Quick, witty, and wonderfully entertaining, the film takes on love, friendship, and the effect of perception on reality.
