Baseball, Italian style as it is played and lived in the coastal town of Nettuno, Italy. Here "every boy is born with a mitt on his hand" and the American pastime is transformed from a game into a social force, a Grande Amore no one can resist. In 1944, invading GIs taught the game to townspeople as they worked on a memorial cemetery, and since that time, Nettuno has defined itself through the game and those who play it. This delighful story is told by the townspeople themselves and by the legends, supporters, and semi-pros whose passions have brought a unique character to this most American sport. Like a great conversation at an espresso cafe, this film follows many lines as it celebrates the elegance of the sport, the feelings it engenders and pleasures it creates. Where have you gone, Joe Dimaggio? Our bet is he is still in Nettuno.

After the screening, be sure to join fellow film lovers on the patio at Enzian for wine and cheese, generously provided by your friends at Olive Garden Italian Restaurants.
