HER BEST MOVE
USA, 2006, 102 MIN, RATED G
DIRECTED BY NORM HUNTER
For 15-year-old soccer sensation Sara Davis (Leah Pipes, Pixel Perfect), high school is about to get even crazier. On the field she dances through opponents to make impossible shots on goal--skills honed daily by her father, Gil (Scott Patterson, Gilmore Girls), a pro soccer coach separated from her mom. Encouraged by her best friend Tutti (Lalaine, Lizzy McGuire) to jump-start her life outside sports, Sara makes up for lost time. From hi-jinks in the chemistry lab to hanging with a wacky and adoring friend (Daryl Sabara, Spy Kids) at the ice cream shop where she works part-time, Sara soon discovers there's more to life than just soccer. Under the constant scrutiny of U.S. Team scouts and her dad, she faces the challenge of being true to herself and recognizing her own priorities and dreams. Her Best Move is a revelation of a family film; funny, intelligent, and thoroughly engaging, this teen comedy has a heart.
