Who would have thought that the art of "air guitar" would have ever become popular enough to stem a global competition? Air Guitar Nation follows a couple of rock star wannabes as they head to the first ever U.S. Air Guitar Championships to strut their fingers across non-existent instruments in front of a live audience. This film centers mostly on two of these faux-musicians--C. Diddy and Bjorn Turoque--as they each set out to become America's best air guitarist. Diddy sports a red kimono with a "Hello Kitty" chest plate while professing himself the "Asian Fury." Bjorn on the other hand takes a more subtle approach with his attire but no doubt unleashes an almost untouchable style of stage presence. Winner of the Audience Award at the SXSW Film Festival, this irreverent and joyful documentary takes the audience on an exciting, hilarious, and suspense-filled journey into the world of invisible guitars and the individuals who pluck the chords.
