EAST COAST PREMIERE/2ND US SHOWING
Cutting-edge filmmaking and a fascinating subculture collide in this one-of-a-kind movie. Anthony Howard wants to join Black Label, an outlaw bicycle club in New York City comprised mainly of artists driven by anti-materialism. Black Label has all the rituals and rivals you'd expect from an outlaw biker gang, except they're vegans and they build their own tall bicycles to compete in jousts. This is an energetic real-life Peter Pan story, with trips to the emergency room and rehab, full of longing for a new family and fear of growing up. Anthony's journey may seem irrational and self-destructive, but bike jousting and wanting to belong to a gang that battles mainstream culture are apparently powerfully intoxicating. They certainly make for one hell of a ride.
