DIRECTED BY GRIFFIN DUNNE
SOUTHEAST PREMIERE
A bold drama about the dark secrets of America’s elite and a cautionary tale about the abuse of power, FIERCE PEOPLE offers a rare glimpse into the well-guarded world of the super-rich. The fourth feature from actor/filmmaker Griffin Dunne, this complex coming of age story traces the journey of Liz and Finn Earl (Diane Lane and Anton Yelchin), a working class mother and son in 1978 New York City. Finn is all set to join his anthropologist father in the Amazon for the summer when he is caught buying drugs for his massage therapist mom. In an attempt to get their lives back on track, she moves the two of them out to the decadent country estate of a wealthy client, Mr. Osborne (the great Donald Sutherland). Initially seduced by their lush surroundings, they soon find themselves in a brutal class struggle that threatens to be their undoing. As the idyllic compound turns from safe haven into dangerous territory, mother and son become pawns in a game being played by people who are far richer and odder than they ever imagined.
