pressure cooker.jpgEnter--if you dare--Mrs. Wilma Stephenson's Culinary Arts class at Frankford High School in Northeast Philly, and experience how this tough-as-nails, no-nonsense, loud, and proud teacher has established a reputation for turning her inner city students into scholarship-winning, college-bound success stories. Last year, Stephenson's students garnered over $750,000 in scholarships from the Careers through Culinary Arts cooking competition--a lofty achievement considering Frankford High's 40% dropout rate. This year, 13 students will make it through Mrs. Stephenson's culinary arts boot camp, but will any of them have what it takes to win a full scholarship at the annual cooking competition? Follow three of Mrs. Stephenson's exceptional students as they navigate their way through the ups and downs of senior year and use culinary arts as a means to a brighter future. Brace yourself for an emotional ride as Mrs. Stephenson and her students take us into the kitchen and turn up the heat.
