chronic town.JPGIt's Christmas time in Fairbanks, Alaska, and smart-ass, druggie taxi driver Truman Korovin's life is about to take a turn for the worse.  His girlfriend dumps him on one of the coldest nights of the year. He takes a bad acid trip and ends up in the loony bin. And, worst of all, he is forced to endure group therapy. Through the therapy group, Truman befriends a stripper from a local club and an elderly woman from a nearby retirement home, both connected to Truman's pathetic life in different ways and both with baggage just as heavy as Truman's. But this detour from his already derailed life turns out to be the path that allows Truman to get back on track. Filmed on location with a fine supporting cast--including Alice Drummond, Dan Butler, Garry Marshall, and Paul Dooley--and a terrific music score, CHRONIC TOWN is a witty, gritty, and surprising reminder of the humanity that we all share, regardless of where we are in our lives or where we are in the world . . . including Fairbanks, Alaska.
