Alabama car salesman, Chris Thrash, had a dream to reunite his favorite rock band from the '80s--the phenomenon known as The Rock-afire Explosion. This was not going to be easy since the band hadn't played together since the early '90s and its members had long since been abandoned to a warehouse in Central Florida. Boxed in crates and waiting for their triumphant return, these animatronic rock stars--yes, animatronic!--had fallen victim to both new technology and time. Is their enough WD-40 in the world to lubricate their aging parts? Would band members Billy Bob Brockali, Fatz Geronimo, Beach Bear, and Dook Larue be able to recreate the magic they once shared as the house band for Showbiz Pizza Place restaurants? Chris Thrash believes in the return of the Rock-afire Explosion, and so does the group's creator Aaron Fechter, the owner and sole employee of Creative Engineering, an Orlando company that once employed over 300 employees and earned over 20 million dollars a year at the height of the group's popularity. Destined to be a cult classic, THE ROCK-AFIRE EXPLOSION is a fun and delightfully obsessive rockumentary rooted in Orlando's bizarre entertainment history. Preceded by
