Planet Terra is a flowing, beautiful world where flying whales emerge from the clouds and airships transport the Terrians through its serene skies. They are a peaceful race of tadpole-like beings that have seemingly evolved beyond warfare and greed. One day a dark shadow is cast over the planet. A fleet of ships called the Ark has arrived from the far-away planet Earth, devastated by years of war and environmental ruin. The Earthlings desperately need to colonize Terra before their oxygen runs out. A clash arises that forces the Terrians to fight for their beloved planet. The massive conflict leaves an injured Earthling pilot, Lt. Stanton (Luke Wilson), in the care of Terrian teenager, Mala (Evan Rachael Wood). As both realize they face extinction if the opposing side wins, they must combine their resources to find a way to resolve the war before all of Terra and its splendor is destroyed. Created in astonishing CGI animation, the visually dazzling BATTLE FOR TERRA--with its environmental message and all-star voice cast--plays like a spectacular cross between Wall-E and Star Wars.
